both. is built so you can answer honestly. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and what choices you have. It applies to everyone who visits youboth.app or uses the both. service.
Who we are
both. is operated from the European Union. For data-protection questions, you can reach us at hello@youboth.app. We act as the data controller for the personal data described in this policy.
What we collect
We keep the amount of personal data to a minimum. We collect: (1) an optional recovery email address if you choose to save one, so you can return to your space; (2) technical information such as your browser type, device type, IP address and cookie data, used for security and analytics; (3) anonymised answer patterns and interaction data that cannot be linked back to you or your partner; and (4) communications you send us, such as support requests.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide and secure the service, to pair you with your partner, to generate shared-ground results, to send optional re-engagement or transactional emails, to improve the product through aggregated and anonymised analytics, and to meet legal obligations. We do not use your intimate answers to build advertising profiles or to identify you across other services.
Legal basis for processing
Under EU data protection law, we process your personal data because it is necessary to perform our contract with you (providing the service), because we have a legitimate interest in keeping the service secure and improving it, or because you have given consent (for example, when you opt in to recovery emails or marketing cookies). You can withdraw consent at any time.
Sharing with others
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with trusted service providers that help us run both.: our backend and database host (Lovable Cloud / Supabase), email sending, analytics (Google Analytics), advertising platforms (Meta), and payment processing (Stripe). Each provider is contractually bound to use data only for the services they provide to us.
International transfers
Some of our service providers are based outside the European Economic Area. When we transfer data internationally, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses approved by the European Commission, so that your data remains protected.
How long we keep data
Identifiable data, including your recovery email and server logs, is deleted when you delete your account or close your space. We may retain anonymised statistical data for product improvement, but this data cannot be connected to any individual user. Some information may be kept longer if required by law.
Your rights
Depending on your location, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or restrict the use of your personal data, to object to processing, and to receive your data in a portable format. Security
We use encryption in transit, access controls, row-level security in the database, and regular deletion of expired spaces. No system is completely secure, but we design both. so that your individual answers are never visible to your partner unless the matching logic finds shared ground.
Children
both. is intended for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe we have received data from a minor, please contact us so we can delete it.
Cookies and tracking
We use essential cookies to make the service work and analytics cookies to understand how the site is used. You can manage analytics cookies through your browser settings. Advertising platforms may receive only non-identifying event data unless you have consented to more.
